After only a year I said goodbye to the Toyota TRD Off Road 4 Runner.
First off let me say. “Anyone thinking about buying a 4Runner TRD Off Road. DO IT! It is an absolutely awesome vehicle.”
So why get rid of it after only a year? I had looked at an Alu – Cab camper last year. My hesitation was they only made them for mid size trucks. Tacomas and Colorados.
After I bought the 4 Runner a few months later Alu-Cab came out with the Alu-Cabin. Same camper made for full size trucks.
This brings me to last week. I traded the 2021 4 Runner in on a 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Off Road Limited. The Alu-Cabin is sitting at Selkirk Off-road. Joe the owner is an Alu-Cab dealer.
Next week while I’m out of town Selkirk Off-road will install the camper. I’m excited to reveal the finished Overland Vehicle.
I want to say goodbye to the 4 Runner and thank you for my best year adventuring yet.
But as Boston put it. Don’t look back.
Thank you to Al at Rogers Toyota in Hermiston Oregon. He went the extra mile to make the Tundra deal happen. Anyone interested in a Toyota contact Al and he will set you up.
In closing. Goodbye 4 Runner. Hello Tundra/ Alu-Cabin overland vehicle.
Stay tuned to YouTube this week for the farewell video of the 4 Runner.
Need to see it soon

Nice!!!, sounds like an excellent overland vehicle but as the saying goes “pictures or it didn’t happen”! 🙃

Why the switch? Tired of having to climb atop the Forerunner to get into the car top tent, and then having to climb down or pee from up on high in the middle of the night?
