The floor and cabinets are in! My buddy and I built the cabinets and installed them. Truth be told he built them. I helped. Truth, truth be told. He did everything and I watched mostly. I did help hold the board from moving while he cut it. Actually I wasn’t paying attention and it moved. He cut the next one by himself. He also measured, figured, screwed, glued, squared, and basically did it all. Thank you Whitey!!

The idea was simple. If I had cabinets I could get rid of the totes and make room for traveling. The wood used was recycled old stuff. The flooring was left over from my other buddy’s house. Once again thank you.

We laid the flooring first. Then boxed out the cabinets to fit on one side my clothes. 12″ x 50″. On the other side was the equipment. 21″ x 76″. This side will house my rear winch, tool box, Traeger grill, inverter, recovery straps and miscellaneous stuff.

Now with the cabinets and floor in I just step on cabinet to get into and out of bed.
If I need something its right there. Clothes, tools, drinks, food. In the morning I crawl out of bed. Grab what I want to wear for the day. I open the door and step out into my day. When It’s mealtime I grab the grill plug it into the inverter that I bought for $40 and throw on a steak or ribs.

Now don’t get me wrong. Life is not all sunshine and rainbows. There is still some sad and lonely times. But that’s life. I don’t want to paint a perfect picture. This lifestyle is not for everyone. It suits me for now.

It is so nice to wake up on a creek or lake. To watch Elk in a field before I go to sleep. Or to just have the freedom to pull over and camp where I wish.

Until the next adventure
