Falling into September

Just like that, June was gone.  Matter of fact, so was July and August.

So we find ourselves on Fall’s doorstep.  Autumn is my favorite time of year.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy summer’s sunshine.  Also Winter’s snow.  Spring’s wet and gray I can do without.

Fall, with its cool sunny weather, lends itself to my liking.   To watch leaves release their last colorful grip on the trees is paradise.  Autumn is the time to visit Glacier, Canada and the mountains.  The crowds of summer are gone.

I have made the most of this summer with the Tundra/Alu-Cabin setup.

September marks the start of winter preparations.

This weekend I will cut wood. Also before the snow flies I am going to add another rain fly to the tent. The old one is doing a great job. I just want to add a cover over all of the deck. This way on snowy days I can sit on my deck and watch the snow fall.

My adventures have been shortened to a few days a week.  Saturdays are spent watching my son play football.  I absolutely love it.  Not just the games, but time spent with my daughters on the way to the games and home.

Making the most of the days I have at the tent and in the Alu Cab / Tundra in nature.  The golden leaves of the Aspens and needles of the Larch have started to paint the mountains.  For the first time this season I heard a Bull Elk bugle last weekend.  The Kokanee are running up the creeks to spawn.

This gap in between Summer’s heat and Winter’s snow is one to be enjoyed and experienced with a vigor of adventure.

  1. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year as well. I just heard that Canada is opening their border without any Covid restrictions. We should plan a trip!
