Goodbye 2022, hello 2023.
But before we say goodbye to 2022 let’s mention some notable memories for Bald Bigfoot.
A new overland vehicle. Yes the Toyota 4 Runner was a short lived experiment. Not that there was anything too wrong with the setup. But the rooftop tent paled in comparison to the Alu-Cabin. The 4 Runner itself was an amazing vehicle. Although the Tundra is a much more capable platform for overlanding. Being able to pop up the Alu-Cabin in ten seconds and push beds up to standup inside to get dressed or just out of the weather was a game changer.
A return to Canada. After almost three years I returned to the great white north. Covid had the borders shut down unless you had the latest booster, a passport, a recent Covid test (from a qualified establishment), a mask with two backup approved face coverings and had filled out on your phone a 8 page app. After October of 2022 you needed the following. A 12 pack of cheap beer, a half gallon of any whiskey produced north of the equator, and a BC fishing license. (The license is made out of two sheets of Charmin toilet paper). Thus doubling for an approved Trudeau face covering or you can use it to wipe the tears from your eyes when you need to fill your gas tank the first time north of the 49th parallel.
A successful Christmas tree hunt. Checkout the youtube video on Baldbigfoot.com
Nothing out of the ordinary. A two day 500 mile expedition. With the price of the local Christmas tree farms to the tune of $80.00 I continued to cut out the middle man and go it alone. In the end my calculations are as followed: Gas $100.00. New tie downs (because the three sets of new ones I have purchased during 2022 have disappeared). $25.00. New axe (old one is with the old tie downs somewhere.) $60.00. Breakfast on opening morning $30.00. Refreshments $25.00. Steak for Traeger both lunch and dinner. $35.00. Diesel for heater. $20.00. New gloves (old ones with Axe and tie downs). $40.00. Second gas fill up. $100.00. Knee brace (left knee still injured from last years Christmas tree trip.). $40.00. New top box $70.00. (old one ripped off top by low hanging tree.) Grand Total $545.00. Take that North Pole Christmas Tree Farm L.L.C. !
Oh ya. New tree lights $30.00. (old ones burnt up with last years tree because too lazy to unwrap them from the skeleton of tree last May when I got around to taking it down and burning it.)
Here’s to a healthy and happy 2023!!!!
See you in the mountains. BBF

In the evening, I go to bed, and when I wake up, everything has become more expensive. From the text, I can conclude that despite everything, you are having a good time. We are waiting for the continuation. I wish you a nice day
