Here comes the snow

On Wednesday I woke up and stepped out of the Alu Cabin into three inches of fresh snow. It snowed throughout the day to the tune of eight inches. It was heavy cotton that fell into the trees.

What a wonderful autumn it has been. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather all throughout October.

On my way home from the Yaak in Montana I needed to pull several trees out of the road.

This is part of living up here. Always have a chainsaw and rope. Never have somewhere you have to be. Plans almost always are delayed by Mother Nature.

I embrace the uncertainty of the weather and travel. It’s time to attach my snow shoes and cross country skis on top of the Alu-Cabin.

I have out my diesel heater to a small test of teens. This week we will try it further with negative temps predicted.
